Card for an elderly person
Hi there!
My name is Lukas, and I’m going on 11 on the 12th of December.
I am very serious about dancing (ballet contemporary and tap) and singing (classical and musical theatre.)
In the Christmas holidays I am going to do a few workshops on ballet and musical theatre.
I’ve found a poem for you:
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets
So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones that
don’t believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, take it,
if it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said it would be easy,
they just promised
It would be worth it.
.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, full of friends, joy, and laughter.
Sincerely,

Similes & Metaphors
Your brain is as small as a flea.
Your fart is as loud as a brass-band.
Your mouth is as big as Planet Earth.
You are as dumb as a dodo.
Your tummy is as humongous as the Atlantic Ocean.
Your face is as chubby as a hippopotamus.
We wrote our similes because we read a book called called ‘Jason’s Extraordinary Hair’ which had lots of similes in it. A simile is comparing a word with another.
Can you write a cool simile?
Share it with me on a comment below.

Diwali
Diwali as the Indian (Hindu) celebration of lights. It's celebrated (this year) on the 19 of October.
Diwali lasts about five days.
Today, our school was lucky enough to have some guest dancers and musicians to perform for us some traditional dances from India, also celebrated in Diwali. They also made us more aware of what Diwali is and how it's celebrated. In India, they have a 2 week holiday (lucky!!!) to clean the house from top to bottom. They do this to sweep away all the bad luck, and they open their doors and windows to let good luck in.
Here are some interesting facts about Diwali:
-The female dancers wear bells on their ankles; each one weighing 7 kgs!!!
-A normal Sari (a piece of fabric wrapped around the woman to create a dress) is 9 metres long!!!
-Here is the story of Diwali.
-Over 1 million Hindus celebrate Diwali!!
- Diwali is the largest Hindu celebration in India!
Here are some photos of the performance:

School Musical!
Who?
|
The Kauri Team
|
What?
|
Mindcraft the Musical
|
Where?
|
In the hall
|
When?
|
21.09.17
|
Why?
|
Because we wanted a school production?!
|
How?
|
With great difficulty! A few tears (not from me) but it was really fun!
|
What was your role/s?
|
I was the lead!!
Marion/The Grandma
|
How did you go in your role/s?
|
Very well!
|
What was challenging?
|
Watching the set changes. The were very slow, so the audience got bored :(
|
What was most enjoyable?
|
Getting the most whoops at the curtain call!! :) :0
|
Any tips for people doing a production in the future?
|
Wrong but Strong!
Meaning: If you do something onstage that’s wrong e.g muck up a line do it with confidence because 99% of the time, the audience won’t notice!
