100 Word Challenge Story
Mist swirled in circles beyond human vision. All I could see were faint outlines of stubby trees, grouped in countless numbers. The mist swayed gently in the cool winter breeze, as if in a trance.
All of a sudden, it parted to reveal... I can’t explain! They were like balls of light, mingling with the trees. Every second, they were changing colours; glowing so brightly, that they were almost impossible to look at. But the thing that fascinated me the most, was that they were humming; soft and gently; as if singing a lullaby.
But what were they? Nobody knew.
