100 Word Challenge

(Prompt): ...and I thought "well what a start"...

Packing, packing, packing. Neverending packing. Maybe going on a month holiday in Italy wasn’t the best idea afterall. I leave in one day, and I still haven’t finished packing. At least I’ve finally organised my passport. I’m not one of those people who goes on holiday twelve times a year, so I needed a new passport because the old one had expired. It’s all go.

One day later…

“Good morning everyone. You are now able to board the plane. Have a nice flight!” announced a cheesy voice. I hopped aboard. We took off, but the then… “Evacuate plane now!!!”. And then I thought “well what a start”.

Speech for School Uniforms

-Practicality

I think without a doubt we should have school-uniforms because it would be very practical and much easier to chose in the morning/night than having to waste time by having winging and whining for your parents to ‘Gimme my PANTS!!’ all the time. It would also be easier for school trips and you won’t have to fuss getting other ‘uniforms’ ready.

-Everyone being Identical

It would better for you if you  had a uniform because if you wore mufty all the time, then you might get teased or mocked because ‘You haven't got the right Nike’s!’ or something. But when you have a uniform, that would NEVER HAPPEN TO YOU!

-Conclusion
So, I hope that now you agree with me about HAVING SCHOOL UNIFORMS because of… all of the above.

100 Word Challenge Story

Mist swirled in circles beyond human vision. All I could see were faint outlines of stubby trees, grouped in countless numbers. The mist swayed gently  in the cool winter breeze, as if in a trance.
All of a sudden, it parted to reveal... I can’t explain! They were like balls of light, mingling with the trees. Every second, they were changing colours; glowing so brightly, that they were almost impossible to look at. But the thing that fascinated me the most, was that they were humming; soft and gently; as if singing a lullaby.

But what were they? Nobody knew.

"Alcatraz" 100 Word Challenge Writing

Alcatraz

Alcatraz.
Your ultimate doom.
I’ve been here for years. I was convicted for a crime of being a narcissist and murdering my wife, my children, some my friends, the judge in my trial, and precisely five hundred and eighty two more people.
I mean, why should I be put in jail? I can’t help that I’m a narcissist! I was just born being into myself.
I especially hate my dingy, cold, damp, dark cell. It’s the smallest of them all! I absolutely LOATHE this prison! I hate the ignorant, fat headed guards, and the way they think they're so important.

“I HATE THIS LIFE! Kill me already!

'Taste Writing'

What is your favourite food? Why do you like it? Is it the taste, texture, smell, colour etc. ? Your tongue helps you taste, but is that all? Lots of children seem to be picky eaters , partly because they have more taste buds than adults, which makes them more sensitive to taste. Younger children especially are sensitive to sweet tastes. Taste receptor cells work hard, therefore they get replaced about once a week. As we get older, it takes longer to replace the cells, which is why many older people can’t taste as well as kids and younger people. Smoking kills some of your taste buds, so does hot liquids i.e coffee or tea. Flavour is not the only thing that helps you decide if you like food or not. Your tongue has a big part in tasting as well. For example: It picks up the temperature It checks flavour, texture & type.

My 'Doors' Writing

WARNING!

Reader, if you prefer Fairy tales instead of gory horror story's, then you you should not read on...

Door One

Behind door one, there is a room with a magnificent feast lying on a gold table. The food is still steaming, so you know it is fresh. You walk slowly in awe, but when you’re only a few paces away, you hear a creak in the floor, and suddenly you plunge into a deep, deep hole in the ground to your death.

Door Two
Behind door two, all your friends are there. They’re laughing, playing and having heaps of fun. However, when they see you, their clothes rip off and they transform into different goblins. Terrifying shapes, sizes, claws and jaws. They close in on you. One goblin with bulging muscles swiftly picks you up and throws you into the air. You are afraid of heights; so it’s like living hell. You fall into another goblins arms. Soon, they’re all throwing and catching, throwing and catching. Traumatized, you shriek and cry, but the goblins, they just cackle hideously. You are being truly tortured, something that will kill people after a while, so after a few more seconds, your eyes close for the last time.

DOOR THREE

Behind door three, you find yourself in a dull mansion. It’s unusually quiet. You don’t think it’s safe, but the drive of curiosity spurs you on.
You decide to walk up the staircase to your left, but you only get to the second step when a ghostly figure appears. It has blood red eyes, a creature of the night. It doesn't speak, just stares at you. Then it disappears. You decide to proceed with extreme caution. You go into a rather large library. It looks like it is holding over a million books, so you choose the book that catches your eye first. You open the first page and the same figure appears. It screams in your ear so loud that you swipe the air with your hand and burst out of the door with fright.

DOOR FOUR

Behind door four, you’re in a titanic clearing. It looks so old! No buildings, no people, not anything except dirt instead of concrete and trees and berry-bushes instead of apartment-buildings. You decide to collect berries, since there are no candy stores. You already have near full  T-shirt of berries, when you feel the ground shake tremendously. You hear a roar as loud as thunder, and the ground shakes again. You turn around, but you stop as soon as your eyes reach the horrifying sight. A dinosaur. The extinct creature creature from your most deadly nightmares. Only then you realise that you’ve time-traveled over a million years into the past.

The dinosaur turns it’s head and glares at you. The exact thing that you didn’t want to happen. You start to sprint, but the dinosaur has already spotted you, and it’s hungry.

It’s nearly on you, when all of a sudden the door opens and you run out just in time.

Science Experiment

Yesterday, Room 20 did a science experiment. We used: a coin, and water.

We put our coins on a table-top, sucked out some water with a syrnge & counted the number of drops it took until it over-flowed. It looked like this:

My Summer Story

Summer

Remember?
Walking along the poker-hot sand in jandals? That was Summer.

Remember? Ice-cream dripping down your chin, and it’s soothing feeling melting in your mouth? That was Summer.
Playing beach-volleyball and having a nice, refreshing sip of apple juice after the match? That was summer.

Remember? Having a sizzling barbeque after a tiring day of swimming? That was summer.
Sunbathing and tanning at the same time after a nice swim.

That was summer.

This is our class (Room 20) at 'Garden To Table'. It's something we do every 2nd Thursday. There are          two groups: Green group, and Orange group. We swap groups, so one group cooks, and the other      group gardens.
Pride and prejudice
Based on the classic by Jane Austen
Retold by Lukas Maher

“Lydia, do stop coughing. And Jane! Oh Jane, you look beautiful. It is very important tonight!” Mrs. Bennet cooed
“Why do you ALWAYS talk about no-one else other than Jane? All our girls are quite silly. Although Lizzy is not as silly as rest.” argued Mr. Bennet. “Oh you do love to play with my nerves!”sighed Mrs. Bennet. “On the contrary, I have known your ‘nerves’ for twenty years. They’re one of greatest friends” Mr. Bennet said. But before Mrs. Bennet could argue, the carrige came to a hault. They had arrived at the dance. All nine family-members stepped out into the cold night air. Inside, it was loud with chatter. Everyone who wasn’t talking, were dancing, eating or drinking. Just then, a sound of a trumpet pierced the air. Door-men swiftly opened the grand double-doors, and two important looking men strided in.
“That is Mr. Bingley, owner of Netherfield Hall. Six thousand franks a year!” Mrs. Bennet whispered to her friend Charllotte Lucas. “Ooo! Ooo and here comes his friend, Mr. Darcy. Owner of Pemberly Hall. Nine thousand franks a year!”cried Mrs. Bennet.

My Grandparents

Grandma always use to order Dave (her partner) around.
“Cook me lunch NOW! And hurry up!”
Mama used to tell me that “It isn’t right to order people around like that, O.K?”after we visited.
The other main thing about Grandma, is that she was very stubborn. She  always had it HER way and NO-ONE ELSE’s!

Even though Grandma was bossy, she was quite proctive of me. For example: She cared about what shows I was in, she always asked how school was. Though she sometimes orded me to hug me. (I kind of regret not doing it.) Anyway.
On the other other hand, Grandad was quite the opposite. He was a little deaf. I had less time with Grandad because: A, he was deaf and B, he died earlier than Grandma.
Sadly, both of my Grandparents are dead now. My Grandma died of breast-  cancer at about sixty-nine, and my Grandad died of stomach-cancer at about seventy-nine, (a year apart from Grandma).

Evita

                                              EVITA

I am in pop-opera called Evita. The Auckland Music Theatre is putting it on. I'm in the children's-chorus.

It is @ the Bruce-Mason theatre on the North-Shore. I have a solo. I sing to Evita when she's praying.
